"Your trauma is not your fault, but healing is your responsibility"
About 70% of adults in the United States have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives. That is about 223.4 million people. That statistic only shows the number of adults who experience trauma in their lives, but what about children? Child trauma occurs more often than we think. More than two-thirds of children reported at least one traumatic event by the age of 16.
Trauma comes in many forms and there is no requirement to meet in order to be considered as someone suffering through trauma. Here at Anchor Counseling, our clinicians have worked with individuals who have experienced events that they perceive as traumatic.
